About Karatrack
Karaoke software from people who still run the show
Karatrack is built by Rush Monkey LLC in Houston, Texas. Our founder has hosted karaoke professionally since 2004, our team has more than 70 combined years behind the mic, and we own and operate our own karaoke venue — so every feature in Karatrack+AI is used at a real show before it reaches you.

How a karaoke company ended up writing software
Our founder started hosting in 2004 with a case of CD+G discs and a laptop, and grew that into a full-time multi-op entertainment company offering karaoke, DJ services and photo booth rentals across the Houston area. In 2008 the company became the first in Houston to live-stream its karaoke shows, and in 2009 Houston television station WB39 featured it as "The Future of Karaoke".
Over the following years the company hosted a national karaoke competition at Hush Nightclub and provided karaoke services for George Strait, Blake Shelton and Sugarland, along with local Houston celebrities. In 2023 we bought our own venue, Karaoke Houston Café & Bar, where karaoke runs every week on Karatrack+AI.
Karatrack exists because twenty years of hosting left a long list of things the available software could not do: explain why a singer landed where they did in the rotation, keep couples together, merge a regular's duplicate profiles, show album art on the singer screen, take requests from phones without a third-party service, or speak the languages of a Houston crowd. We started building those tools for our own shows and, when other hosts asked for them, turned them into a product.

Who tests it before you see it
The founder
Hosting professionally since 2004, running a multi-op karaoke and DJ company, and now a venue owner. Designs Karatrack+AI and hosts on it every week.
A host since the cassette era
Our founder's father-in-law has worked in karaoke since the early 1990s, when the music came on cassette tapes and the lyrics were on printed paper. Many of the rotation and hosting features in Karatrack+AI started as his requests.
A co-host with 20+ years
Our founder's wife has been in the karaoke business for more than twenty years and runs shows on the same software, which is how we find out fast when something is not host-friendly.
Beta testers with 30+ combined years
A group of working KJs with more than 30 combined years of hosting runs pre-release builds at their own shows and reports what breaks, what is confusing, and what they wish it did.
How we work
- Every feature is used at a real show before it ships. Our venue is the test bed, and our Updates page lists every release.
- Karatrack+AI is a one-time purchase that activates two computers, with a 14-day free trial of the complete product and no credit card.
- Support is handled by people who host. Open a ticket from your account and you will hear back from someone who has stood in front of a rotation.
- Our comparison pages say by name when another product is the better fit. We would rather lose a sale than a host's trust.
