What is the Karaoke Songbook Maker?
The Karatrack Songbook Maker is a free karaoke songbook creator that runs in your web browser. Point it at the folder where your karaoke tracks live (MP3+G, CDG, ZIP, MP4 and more) and it reads the artist, song title and disc ID from every file name, removes duplicates, sorts the list by artist or title, and lays it out on printable Letter or A4 pages with a cover, page numbers and A–Z dividers. Print it, or choose “Save as PDF” to make a karaoke song list PDF you can email, post online or send to a print shop.
Why hosts use it instead of paid songbook software
Karaoke song list generators and songbook printers have traditionally been paid Windows programs. This one is free, needs no download or installation, works on Windows, Mac and Chromebooks, and never uploads your library — only the file names are read. It replaces the spreadsheet method (export a song list, fix it in Excel, fight with page breaks) with a live preview you can restyle in seconds: fonts, columns, row shading, binding margins, your logo, and a “new songs since” supplement for regulars who already have last year’s book.
How to make a karaoke songbook in three steps
- 1Scan the folder (or folders) that hold your karaoke files, or import a CSV or TSV song list from your current karaoke software.
- 2Add your venue or company name and logo, choose artist or title order, and pick the fonts, columns and row style you like.
- 3Click Print and choose your printer or “Save as PDF”. The songbook prints exactly as previewed, with a small “Created with Karatrack Software Suite” line on each page.
Frequently asked questions
Is the karaoke songbook maker really free?
Yes. There is no cost, no account and no song limit. Every page carries a small “Created free with Karatrack Software Suite” line — that is the only price.
Which karaoke file formats does it read?
Any file whose name follows the common Artist - Title pattern: MP3+G (mp3 + cdg), zipped CDG, MP4 and other video karaoke, KAR/MIDI and plain audio files. Disc IDs such as SC8891-05 or CB40123 are recognised automatically, and bracket tags like [C], [E] and [Pop] are used for rating and genre.
Does it upload my karaoke library?
No. The browser only reads file names and dates from the folder you pick. No audio or video is read or sent anywhere.
Can I make a songbook PDF instead of printing?
Yes. Click Print and choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog. Set margins to None so the pages match the preview.
Can I hide duplicate songs or show disc numbers?
Both are switches. Hide duplicates merges the same song from several discs into one line and lists every disc ID; Show disc IDs turns the disc column on or off.
Can I combine songs from more than one folder or drive?
Yes. After the first scan the button becomes “Add another folder”; each location is listed and can be removed individually, and the book is built from all of them.
Does it work with Song List Generator, CompuHost, Karaoki or OpenKJ libraries?
Yes. It reads the same folders those programs use, and it can also import a CSV or tab-separated song list exported from them.
Which languages and paper sizes are supported?
The tool and the printed book are available in 13 languages, and pages can be Letter or A4, portrait or landscape, with an optional binding margin for hole-punched or spiral-bound books.
