Promo Screen for a third TV, and Tips QR codes for walk-ups
Version 1.0.89 · 2026-09-30
Two new add-ons. Promo Screen is a third pop-out window for a promotions TV that runs your photo slideshow non-stop, with the same scrolling banner as the Singer Screen if you want it. Tips puts a button next to Mobile App that shows QR codes for Venmo, Cash App, PayPal and more, so a guest who asks how to tip can scan right from your screen.
New Features
- Promo Screen add-on (Settings, Add-ons): a third pop-out window made for a promotions TV. It shows your DJ photo slideshow running continuously (great for drink specials and upcoming events) and, if you tick it, the very same scrolling banner as the Singer Screen. You choose whether the slideshow shows on the Singer Screen or the Promo Screen, so it never appears on both. The window remembers its position, size and monitor, can open by itself when Karatrack starts, never shows lyrics, and keeps running while the console is locked. Saved with each Venue.
- Tips add-on (Settings, Add-ons): a Tips button next to Mobile App for guests who ask "do you have a Venmo?". Type your handles or links for Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Revolut, GCash, Mercado Pago, Google Pay, KakaoPay, PayPay and up to three of your own, and Karatrack draws a QR code for each, with no internet needed. Press Tips to see them all, tap one and the others hide so the guest scans only that code. If you use just one method, the big code opens straight away. Each method shows a coloured name badge, or your own uploaded logo. The button text is yours to change, and everything is saved with each Venue, so every host on a shared system has their own codes.
Improvements
- Singer History tab: the last-sang date now sits level with the song title, with more space from the buttons below it.
Showtime Countdown, real dates in singer history and a rotation marker fix
Version 1.0.88 · 2026-09-30
New add-on: count down to your show on the Singer Screen and flash SHOWTIME! when it starts. The singer History tab now shows the actual date a song was last sung, and new singers who join while the rotation marker is at the top land in the right spot.
New Features
- Showtime Countdown add-on (Settings, Add-ons): enter your showtime and the Singer Screen counts down to it. When the time arrives, the Singer Screen flashes SHOWTIME! in bright colours and your host console shows a flashing notice. One click on that notice clears it from both screens. You choose the words, the colours, the flash speed and where the countdown sits, or use your own GIF, picture or video instead of the text. Everything is saved with each Venue, and "Showtime!" appears in your chosen language by default.
Improvements
- Singer History tab: instead of a rough "3 weeks ago", each song now shows the actual date the singer last sang it, in your language, with the exact time when you hover. Sorting by date now uses the real date.
Bug Fixes
- Rotation marker: a new singer who joins while the marker singer is in spot 1 now goes directly above the marker for the next rotation, instead of ahead of singers who were already waiting.
Your own default artwork, complete Switch Version lists and a tidier Database page
Version 1.0.87 · 2026-09-29
Pick your own picture for songs that have no artwork and save it with each Venue. Switch Version now shows every karaoke version of a song, and the Database page tools are tucked into one dropdown.
New Features
- Default Artwork: in Singer Screen Settings you can now choose your own picture for karaoke songs and a separate one for DJ songs that have no artwork of their own. Reset to built-in puts the original pictures back. The pictures are saved with each Venue, so every show can have its own look.
Improvements
- Database page: Unavailable Song Requests, Damaged Tracks, MP4 Faststart Repair, the Artist / Title edits export, Website Songbook and Song Keys now live in one Additional Database Tools dropdown, so your library folders sit near the top of the page. The dropdown always starts closed.
Bug Fixes
- Switch Version (and the Version button in the headphone preview) now lists every karaoke version of the song, the same as Library Search, even when versions are filed under different artist spellings such as "Josh Groban" and "Groban, Josh". It also no longer offers the original recording from the DJ music library as a karaoke version.
Song history search, safer library scans and linked-couple fixes
Version 1.0.86 · 2026-09-27
New: look up everyone who has sung a song and when they last sang it. Plus fixes so a library scan can never freeze a live show and linked couples always stay in the right order.
New Features
- History window: new By Song tab. Type a song title or artist to see everyone who has sung it, how many times, and the last date they sang it, newest first. Filter by venue, or see all venues together.
Improvements
- Scanning new songs into the library while a karaoke song is playing no longer holds up the show. The scan works in small pieces during a performance so ending a song, rotating the singer and pressing GO keep working, then runs at full speed again between songs.
- When a song ends, removing it and updating the singer's card now happen together or not at all, so a singer's card can never be left showing a song that is no longer in their list.
Bug Fixes
- Linked singers: Karatrack now remembers who sings first in each couple, so dragging or skipping singers can no longer flip a couple's order or pull the first singer back up to spot 2 right after they sang.
- Rotation marker: a new singer added while one half of a linked couple is singing now goes directly above the marker instead of jumping ahead to spot 3.
Inactive singers keep their spot in the rotation
Version 1.0.85 · 2026-09-25
Corrects how inactive singers are handled: they keep their place in the rotation and are skipped only when their turn comes up, exactly like a singer who sang.
Bug Fixes
- Inactive singers keep their spot in the rotation. When their turn comes up they are skipped: the turn is used and they move to the end of that lap, the same as a singer who sang. They are no longer pinned to the bottom, and a singer who comes back from inactive keeps their place instead of being treated as a new singer. Applies whether or not they have songs queued.
Change Song menu, Smart Rotation, rotation explanations and a cleaner queue on busy nights
Version 1.0.84 · 2026-09-25
Change Song now asks what you want to do next, a Smart Rotation switch and red ? badges make the rotation easier to understand, inactive singers stay out of the way on busy nights, and several rotation and playback bugs are fixed.
New Features
- Change Song menu: while a singer is performing, Change Song opens a menu. Start Singer's Next Song, Choose Another Song, Skip This Turn or Cancel. Nothing changes until you pick, and the singer always keeps spot 1.
- Rotation notes: when the rotation puts a singer somewhere other than the usual spot, a red ? appears on their card. Click it to read why in plain words, then press Got it to clear it. Works with the rotation marker on or off.
- Smart Rotation switch in Settings, Rotation: on (the default) keeps the protected on-deck spot, keeps linked singers together and skips inactive singers. Turn it off for a plain rotation in every mode. The ? next to it explains exactly what it does.
- Start Song button on the singer card: start the singer in spot 1 without closing the card you are working in.
- Inactive timer: inactive singers show a small pill with how long they have been inactive. Green under 30 minutes, yellow to 45, orange to 60, then red. Hover for the exact time.
- Headphone Preview: a Version button in the preview window lists every version of the song so you can listen to another one without touching the singer's queued song.
Improvements
- Busy nights: inactive singers now always sit below every active singer instead of stacking up above them, so there is nothing to skip by hand. A singer who comes back from inactive rejoins at the end of the current lap like a new singer.
- Rotation marker on deck: a new singer now goes straight into spot 3 (or below the marker's linked partner) instead of appearing at the bottom and moving up a few seconds later.
- Keyboard and headset play/pause buttons can no longer pause the show.
Bug Fixes
- Linked singers: a partner who sang right after the other could land above them; they now rest together, below the partner they follow. Linking two singers in-show now also updates the rotation memory.
- Linked singers: after you skipped one partner to the bottom, they could pop back into spot 2 when the other partner finished singing.
- A new singer inserted above the rotation marker on lap 3 or later could get a second turn right after the marker.
- Closing the headphone Preview window no longer pauses the song that is playing live.
Headphone preview, preferred versions, 2 songs per turn and a key picker
Version 1.0.83 · 2026-09-23
Check any song in your headphones before it plays live, choose the version of a song that should always be picked, let singers sing two songs in a row on quiet nights, and see and change the key of the song on stage right from the Control Center.
New Features
- Headphone Preview: turn it on in Settings, Audio/Video, Audio Outputs and pick your headphone output. A play button appears next to every song and version. It opens its own preview window that remembers where you put it, and it only ever plays through your headphones, never the room.
- Preferred version: in a song's versions list, tick the version you want. It moves to the top and is picked automatically when you add the song and for KaraMeet and kiosk requests. A singer's own choice still comes first.
- Songs per turn: choose 1 or 2 songs per turn in Settings, Rotation, or with the quick switch at the top of the Singer Queue. With 2, a singer stays up for their second song, then rotates as usual. Wait times update to match.
- Song key in the Control Center: a new box between K+ and T- shows the key the singer is hearing and follows every half-step change. Click it to pick a key and Karatrack moves the song there for you.
Bug Fixes
- Library Search: a key picked with the Key button no longer stays selected after you close the singer window or leave the Search tab.
Singer Screens picture fit and full-title tooltips
Version 1.0.82 · 2026-09-23
Singer Screens pictures now always fit completely on the Singer Screen, above or below the rotation banner, instead of being cropped. Long song titles in the singer window show their full text when you hover over them.
Improvements
- Singer window: hover over a long song title in Library Search, Queued Songs or History to read the whole title, including version tags like (Duet) or (Spanish).
Bug Fixes
- Singer Screens: a picture chosen on the fly was zoomed and cropped when the rotation banner was showing. The whole picture now fits in the space above or below the banner, and fills the screen when the banner is off.
Song keys, Singer Screens, and Website Songbook tools
Version 1.0.81 · 2026-09-23
Every karaoke song can now show the key it is in — see it next to the song, search your library by key, and let Analyze Tones fill keys in overnight. Singer Screens lets you put your own 16:9 pictures on the Singer Screen between singers, saved per Venue. The Database page gains Push All Folders and Export for Website for the KaraMeet Website Songbook.
New Features
- Song key on every karaoke song: a key box next to the song in Library Search, History and Queued Songs. Click ? to detect it from the audio, or set it by hand. Rows with a key change show the original and new key (F→G).
- Search by key: a Key button beside Surprise Me lists every song in a key; typed words narrow it down. You can also type key:G.
- Analyze Tones now also detects song keys per folder (overnight, skips songs already done), plus a Song Keys card on the Database page to detect the whole library, pause and continue.
- Singer Screens: a new SINGER SCREENS tab with 12 picture buttons. Click one to show your own 1920×1080 picture on the Singer Screen between singers; pictures are saved per Venue.
- Push All Folders to KaraMeet and Export for Website on the Database page, for the KaraMeet Website Songbook.
Bug Fixes
- DJ mode: the Load and Save playlist windows opened behind the expanded Search & Playlist panel.
- Sound FX: the filler-music ducking slider no longer logs an error every time the console redraws.
Screen Lock, type-anywhere search, and a stronger fix for text boxes that ignore typing
Version 1.0.80 · 2026-09-17
Step away from the booth with one click: the new padlock covers the console until you draw your pattern, while the music, the Singer Screen, the foot pedal and the Stage Host phone keep working. Just start typing to search — no need to click the box first. The fix for text boxes that stop taking typing has been rebuilt, plus a free Songbook Maker link and a few DJ tidy-ups.
New Features
- Screen Lock: a padlock button in the top bar covers the host console and every open Karatrack window (DJ Deck and the other pop-outs) with a blur and a 9-dot pattern pad. Set your pattern once in Settings → General → Screen Lock. The lock screen shows who is singing, the time left and a clock, so you can see when to head back. Playback, the Singer Screen, KaraMeet, the foot pedal and the Stage Host phone remote all keep working while locked. Forgot the pattern? Close and reopen Karatrack — it always starts unlocked — and set a new one; the old pattern is never needed.
- Type anywhere to search: with no text box selected, just start typing and the letters go straight into the singer search — or, inside a singer's window, into Library Search or the History search box. Clicks and buttons are never affected.
- Songbook Maker: Settings → Add-ons now links to the free Songbook Maker on karatrack.com. It runs in your web browser, there is nothing to install, and it never changes or uploads your files — it only reads file names to build a printable songbook or PDF. Also in Help.
Improvements
- DJ VIDEO mode: a video deck waiting on standby now shows a frame from a little way into the video instead of a black first frame, and falls back to album art if a file can't be opened.
Bug Fixes
- Text and search boxes that sometimes ignored typing until you clicked another window and back: the rescue has been rebuilt to act on whether text is actually arriving — it re-takes the keyboard before you type after a quiet spell, again if you click a dead box, and minimizes and restores the window by itself if that still fails.
- Control Center: the "Per-track volume trim" pop-up no longer appears when hovering along the TRIM / BACKING row; the ? button explains TRIM.
Venues remember your Sound FX and Video Bits, a fresh Stage Host PIN every show, and text boxes that always take typing
Version 1.0.79 · 2026-09-17
Saved venues now bring back your whole Sound FX and Video Bits boards — buttons, clips, volume and ducking — so every venue or themed night can have its own set. Stage Host gets a new PIN automatically with every New Show and a light/dark button on the phone page, and the problem where text and search boxes sometimes ignored typing has been fixed.
New Features
- Venues now save your Sound FX and Video Bits boards: every button with its clip, name, color and loop setting, plus the volume and music-ducking sliders for both. Load a venue and its themed board comes back with it. Each saved venue keeps its own copy of the clips, so changing a button later never breaks a venue you saved earlier.
- Stage Host phone page: a light/dark button in the top bar. Each phone remembers its choice; until you pick, it follows the phone's own setting.
Improvements
- Stage Host: a new PIN is created automatically every time you press New Show, so a phone from an earlier show can no longer control tonight's show. The stage phone simply scans the new QR code to reconnect. You can still tap New PIN at any time.
Bug Fixes
- Text and search boxes (singer search, song search, Shout Out, singer name and others) sometimes would not accept typing until you clicked away from Karatrack and back again. The console now takes the keyboard back by itself — on every click into a box, when a window opens with the cursor already in a box, and after any confirmation pop-up.
- Venues saved before this version that pointed at a Sound FX clip you have since replaced no longer bring back a dead button — the button currently on your board is kept instead.
Stage Host remote, smarter Video Bits ducking, and right-click menus that stay on screen
Version 1.0.78 · 2026-09-16
A new Stage Host add-on gives a second person on stage a phone page with GO, STOP, PAUSE and RESTART straight from your rotation. Video Bits now only turns the music down for bits that actually have sound, the Sound FX and Video Bits tabs moved up beside the Monitor View, and every right-click menu now stays fully on screen.
New Features
- Stage Host remote: a phone or tablet page for a second person on stage (a Karaoke MC, a Stage Host, a Hype Presenter). It shows Up Now, Next Up and On Deck from the live rotation with "sounds like" pronunciation hints, and gives them GO, STOP (press and hold), PAUSE/RESUME and RESTART. Turn it on in Settings → Add-ons → Stage Host, set a PIN, and scan the QR code on the venue Wi-Fi. Works in all 13 languages, dark and light.
Improvements
- Video Bits: the filler music now only ducks for bits that actually have a sound track. Silent videos (including the built-in defaults) and image bits play without dipping the music.
- The Sound FX and Video Bits side tabs moved up to sit beside the Monitor View, closer to hand and out of the way of the settings panel.
Bug Fixes
- Right-click menus no longer run off the bottom of the screen. This covers the track menu in the singer window (Library Search, History and Queued Songs), the "+N" genre pop-out, the singer card menu in the rotation, and the rating and version dropdowns on Now Playing. Menus now measure themselves and slide into view, and scroll inside themselves if the window is very short.
Known Issues
- Stage Host: the first time it starts, Windows Firewall will ask for permission — tick Private networks and click Allow access so phones on the venue Wi-Fi can reach it.
Sound for Video Bits, automatic music ducking, and two fixes
Version 1.0.77 · 2026-09-16
Video Bits can now play sound, and both Sound FX and Video Bits can automatically turn the filler music down while they play. A saved venue now brings back its own singer-screen background picture, and a bug that could make a Sound FX or Video Bits button play the wrong file is fixed.
New Features
- Sound FX: a Duck Filler slider. While a sound clip plays, the filler music drops to the level you choose, then eases back up when the clip ends. Set it to 100% to turn ducking off.
- Video Bits: WebM and MP4 bits that include an audio track now play their sound through the karaoke output, at the level of the new VB Volume slider.
- Video Bits: its own Duck Filler slider, so the filler music turns down automatically while a video bit is on screen.
Improvements
- Ducking is shared sensibly: if a sound clip and a video bit overlap, the music stays at the lower of the two levels and only comes back when both are finished.
- Venues: saving a venue now keeps a copy of the singer-screen and jukebox background pictures with it, so loading the venue always brings back the exact pictures you saved, even if you have uploaded a different background since.
Bug Fixes
- Sound FX and Video Bits: after removing a button and putting a different clip or animation on it, the button could keep playing the old file under the new name. It now always plays the file you chose.
- Venues: a saved venue restored the wrong singer-screen background after a newer background had been uploaded.
A new way to pay, four new Video Bits, and a clock for full-screen shows
Version 1.0.76 · 2026-09-16
Customers now have a new way to pay for Karatrack+ AI, and the app's License screen shows your plan details. Video Bits gains four new built-in animations and a per-bit Loop setting, a GIF timing bug is fixed, and the host console shows the time while in full-screen mode.
New Features
- Customers now have a new way to pay for Karatrack+ AI. The License screen (Settings) shows your plan details and includes an Update payment method button and a Check with server button.
- Video Bits: four new built-in animations - APPLAUSE, YOU'RE HOT, SMILEY and LIT - alongside HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Find them under Edit, then Built-in Bits.
- Video Bits: Loop is now set per bit inside its edit card instead of one switch for the whole drawer. Bits set to loop show a small repeat icon on their button.
- Host console: a clock appears in the top-left header while the app is in full-screen mode, where the Windows taskbar clock is hidden.
Improvements
- License: clearer status messages on the License screen and a heads-up banner on the console if the license server reports a problem with your key, so nothing is a surprise mid-show.
Bug Fixes
- Video Bits: an animated GIF with Loop off disappeared after about one second instead of playing through. It now plays its full length.
One artist, your way: George Strait or Strait, George
Version 1.0.75 · 2026-09-15
Karaoke discs disagree about how to write an artist's name, so the same singer could show up twice in Library Search. Both spellings now appear as one artist, and you choose which spelling you prefer to see. Also fixes the Shout Out box not accepting typing.
New Features
- Artist Name Style (Settings, General): pick First Last (George Strait) or Last, First (Strait, George). Library Search shows every artist in your chosen style and lists both spellings' discs together under one song row, in your Collapsed Duplicate Priority order.
Improvements
- Duets and featured tracks are never merged: George Strait & Alan Jackson, Strait, George & Jackson, Alan and anything with feat. keep their own rows, and band names written with commas such as Earth, Wind & Fire are left exactly as they are.
- Your files and the KaraMeet songbook keep their original artist spelling. The new style is display only, so nothing is renamed.
Bug Fixes
- Shout Out: the message box sometimes would not accept typing until the app was minimized and restored. It now takes keyboard focus as soon as it opens.
Video Bits, Shout Out, Venues, and a smarter Singer Screen
Version 1.0.74 · 2026-09-15
A big show-night update: fire looping animations onto the Singer Screen from a new Video Bits drawer, add a one-night Shout Out to the scrolling banner, save your whole Singer Screen setup with each Venue, and the Singer Screen now fills the TV on a brand-new computer and applies settings the moment you save them.
New Features
- Video Bits: a second right-edge drawer under Sound FX with 12 buttons for silent animations (GIF, WebP, PNG, WebM, MP4). Click a bit to show it full-size on the Singer Screen; it loops until you click again, or play once with the Loop tick off. Animations that do not match the screen shape get side bars in a matching colour, and the scrolling banner is never covered. Ships with a Happy Birthday panda; Built-in Bits lets you restore it after replacing it.
- Shout Out: a button opposite Search Song adds a one-night message (for example Happy Birthday Johnnie!) to the scrolling banner, right after your banner text and before the singer list. It clears automatically at New Show.
- Venues (formerly Shows): a saved venue now carries your complete Singer Screen setup, including the background image, the scrolling banner text and colours, the jukebox layout, the time bar, and every tick box on the Singer Screen Settings page.
Improvements
- The Singer Screen now applies Singer Screen Settings the moment you press Save, including a newly chosen background image, without closing and reopening the window.
- On a computer that has never shown the Singer Screen before, it now opens on the display that is not showing the host console and fills it in true full screen automatically. Drag it to another display and it fills that one instead.
Bug Fixes
- A newly chosen Singer Screen background image sometimes kept showing the old picture until the app was restarted.
Holidays & Fun Days settings polish
Version 1.0.73 · 2026-09-14
Two quick fixes to the new Holidays & Fun Days settings: the country list is readable in dark mode, and a View next 30 days button lets you see what is coming even on a day with nothing to show.
New Features
- Settings > General > Holidays & Fun Days: a View next 30 days button opens the same upcoming-holidays list the console banner shows, so you can confirm it is working on a day with no holiday.
Bug Fixes
- The Choose a country dropdown in Holidays & Fun Days was unreadable in dark mode (white text on a white list until you hovered). The list now uses the app's panel colours in both dark and light mode.
Holidays and fun days on the Control Center, plus KaraMeet and DJ fixes
Version 1.0.72 · 2026-09-14
Turn on Holidays & Fun Days in Settings > General and a small strip under the waveform tells you when it is National Cheeseburger Day, Talk Like a Pirate Day, or a public holiday in any country you pick - click it to see what is coming in the next 30 days. Songs you add for a singer by hand now reach their KaraMeet queue as soon as they check in, and the DJ Search & Playlist panel no longer gets cut off on laptops with Windows display scaling turned up.
New Features
- Holidays & Fun Days: an optional strip under the waveform shows today's public holidays (for the countries you choose) and built-in fun days like National Cheeseburger Day and Talk Like a Pirate Day. Click it for everything coming up in the next 30 days. The X hides it for the rest of the show; it comes back when you start a new show. Off by default - turn it on in Settings > General.
- Holiday data is saved on your machine, so the strip keeps working with no internet at the venue. Public holidays refresh automatically about once a month, or use Refresh now in Settings.
Improvements
- Host-added songs now reach a singer's KaraMeet queue automatically: when a singer checks in on the app under the same name you typed on their card, Karatrack links the card and pushes the songs within about 15 seconds - no Combine Singers step needed.
Bug Fixes
- DJ deck: the Search & Playlist panel no longer runs off the bottom of the window (and the playlist Clear row is no longer hidden) on machines with Windows display scaling at 125% or 150%.
- When KaraMeet refuses a host-added song, the reason is now written to the log instead of failing silently.
Trivia moved onto the album art - a cleaner Control Center
Version 1.0.71 · 2026-09-13
Song Trivia now lives where it belongs: click the album art itself. The extra TRIVIA badge from 1.0.70 is gone, so the row under the artwork is back to just the lyrics rating and the DUET tag.
Improvements
- Click the album art in the Control Center (karaoke on the right, DJ on the left) to open Song Trivia. A small gold sparkle in the corner of the art shows it is clickable, and the art highlights when you hover over it.
- The TRIVIA badge under the artwork has been removed - the badge row is back to CLEAN / DUET only.
Song Trivia at your fingertips - and a full-screen playlist builder for the DJ deck
Version 1.0.70 · 2026-09-13
Two host-requested additions. A new TRIVIA badge under the artwork in the Control Center opens a pop-up with facts about the song and the artist - perfect for filling a few seconds on the mic between singers. And the DJ deck's Search & Playlist panel can now expand to fill the whole window while you build a set, then snap back to its normal size.
New Features
- TRIVIA badge under both artwork boxes in the Control Center (karaoke track on the right, DJ track on the left). Click it for a quick read on the song and the artist, with pictures, in your app language. Facts come from Wikipedia - free, no account or key needed.
- Search Google button inside the trivia pop-up. It opens in a small window that stays on top of the console until you close it, so you can keep reading while the show runs.
- Expand button in the DJ deck's Search & Playlist header. The panel takes over the full window - more room for search results and a long playlist - and Restore (or Esc) puts it back. Works in the pop-out DJ window and in the full-screen deck view inside the console.
Tag songs as duets - and send the tag to Karatrack Library Manager
Version 1.0.69 · 2026-09-11
You can now mark any song in your library as a duet, the same way you tag lyrics ratings, genre and year. Duets show a purple DUET badge everywhere a song is listed, and typing "duet" in the song search brings up every one of them - handy for steering the room toward a duet-friendly moment. The tag rides along with your other metadata to Karatrack Library Manager, which writes it into the filename as [Duet].
New Features
- Mark as Duet / Clear Duet Tag in the right-click menu on Library Search, History and Queued songs. It is a manual tag - nothing is ever guessed from a title.
- A Duet toggle in the Edit Karaoke Track window and in the DJ deck's Edit Track window.
- A clickable DUET badge next to the lyrics-rating badge under the karaoke artwork in the Control Center.
- Purple DUET badges on search results, history and queued songs, and a "duet" search keyword that lists every tagged song.
- The Library Manager export now carries the duet tag (format version 2) and the Apply Rename Map import reads it back, so both apps stay in step. Songs whose filenames already end in [Duet] are recognized when a folder is synced.
Music videos on the DJ deck - a new VIDEO mode with its own playlist, shown on the singer screen
Version 1.0.68 · 2026-09-10
The DJ deck can now play music videos between singers. Press VIDEO next to Search & Playlist and the deck switches to your video library with its own playlist; the picture plays full-screen on the singer screen and fades out when a karaoke song starts and back in when it ends, exactly in step with the music. Press DJ and your audio playlist is right where you left it.
New Features
- DJ / VIDEO buttons beside Search & Playlist (and in the DJ bar on the main console). VIDEO mode searches only your video library and keeps a separate playlist; DJ mode is exactly the deck you know. The mode is remembered between restarts.
- Music videos play on the singer screen while the deck plays their sound. Crossfades between videos dissolve the picture over the same seconds as the sound, and when a singer starts the picture fades to black with the music and fades back in afterwards.
- A live video thumbnail replaces the album art on a deck while a video is loaded.
- DJ Options - Video Playback Options: 'After a karaoke song' lets you choose whether the interrupted video resumes where it paused or the next video starts.
- Saved playlists are sorted by kind automatically: Load shows video playlists in VIDEO mode and audio playlists in DJ mode.
Improvements
- Video soundtracks are prepared in the background as soon as videos land in your playlist, so a video loads onto a deck as fast as an MP3.
- The 'Fullscreen video playback' option now works: stretch the video to fill the singer screen, or keep its proportions.
Known Issues
- The very first video played right after loading a playlist may take a few extra seconds while its soundtrack is prepared.
Find a singer by the song they requested, see track lengths everywhere, and a quicker way to clear the library search
Version 1.0.67 · 2026-09-10
Type a song title or artist into the singer search box and Karatrack shows you who has it queued - any song in their list, not just the next one - with their spot in the rotation and ETA. Every place a track is listed now shows its length, and the Library Search tab has a clear button right where your mouse already is so adding several songs in a row is faster.
New Features
- Singer search by song: type part of a song title or artist into 'Search for a singer to add' and any singer who has that song queued appears with a Song Match badge, their rotation number and ETA. It checks every song in their list and tells you which one matched. If nobody has the song, nothing shows.
- Track length everywhere: search results, the Song Search window, a singer's Queued and History tabs, each version in the multi-version dropdown, and the rotation card now show the track's length (m:ss).
- Library Search: an X inside the left edge of the search box clears it and puts the cursor back, so you can type the next song right away.
Improvements
- Singer search rows for anyone already in the rotation now show the song they have queued next.
Save and reload entire shows by name, a safety check before closing the app, and CSV export of a singer's song history
Version 1.0.66 · 2026-09-09
A new Shows button at the top of the console saves everything about tonight - your look, rotation settings, DJ playlist, and every singer in the rotation - under a name you choose, and brings it all back with one click on another night. Closing the app now asks first so a stray click can't end a show, and each singer's song history can be exported as a spreadsheet-ready CSV. This update also fixes the text boxes that sometimes refused clicks until the app was minimized and restored.
New Features
- Shows button: save the current show under a name (for example 'Friday at the Cafe') and load it later. A saved show restores your Customize UI look, rotation and request settings, the DJ playlist and DJ Console settings, and puts the saved singers back into the rotation.
- Singers: Export CSV next to Export PDF - download a singer's song history (Disc ID, Artist, Title, Key, Tempo, Last Sang) as a file that opens straight into Excel or Google Sheets.
Improvements
- Closing the app: clicking the window's X now shows a 'Close Karatrack?' warning first, so an accidental click can't stop the music and drop the singer screen mid-show. Cancel is the default button.
Bug Fixes
- Typing: text boxes such as the singer name and song search no longer go dead after the Singer Screen, DJ window, or a pop-up dialog had the keyboard. You no longer need to minimize and restore the app to click into a box.
Six new sound effects, a built-in sound library, true DJ crossfades, and filler music that eases in before the song ends
Version 1.0.65 · 2026-09-09
The Sound FX board gains six new clips and a Built-in Sounds list so you can put any shipped sound back on a button after replacing it. DJ auto-mix now overlaps tracks with a real crossfade, filler music can fade in before a karaoke song finishes, and the DJ slide-up gets Shuffle and a playlist panel. You can also recolor every card in the app.
New Features
- Sound FX: six new ready-to-use clips - Party Horn, Cymbal Crash, Wolf Whistle, Laughing, Booing, and Bomb Fall (ten shipped sounds in total).
- Sound FX: a Built-in Sounds list in the button editor. Preview any shipped clip and put it on a button - handy for restoring a default after you replaced it.
- DJ Console: Filler fade-in before song ends - choose how many seconds before a karaoke track finishes the filler music should start easing in (Options > Autoplay).
- DJ slide-up: a Shuffle button, plus a playlist chip showing the loaded playlist's name, track count, and length. Tap it to reorder or remove tracks, or load a saved playlist.
- Customize UI: Card Color - pick your own color for the app's backing cards, separately for dark mode and light mode, with a one-click reset.
Improvements
- DJ auto-mix now performs a real crossfade: the ending track fades out while the next fades in, using your Crossfade start from OUT point setting.
- Singer ETAs now respect a song's saved OUT point, so singers behind a trimmed track are no longer over-estimated.
- The Settings panel and Control Center now follow the same transparency and blur sliders as every other card, in both dark and light mode.
Bug Fixes
- Changes made in the DJ slide-up (shuffle, add to top, playlist edits) now show up in an open DJ deck window instead of being overwritten.
Casino Night: choose what happens to unused stars, plus typo-tolerant song search and a singer arrival forecast
Version 1.0.64 · 2026-09-08
Hosts can now decide whether singers' unspent Casino Night stars carry over, expire at the end of the night, or last a set number of days - and turning Slots on mid-show now credits everyone who already checked in. Song search suggests matches when a title is misspelled, and Analytics predicts when singers will arrive on each show night.
New Features
- Casino Night: new Unused Stars setting - carry over forever, use it or lose it at the end of the night, or keep for a set number of days. Singers see a reminder on the Slots card when their spins are about to expire.
- Analytics: Singer Arrival Forecast - pick a weekday to see, in 30-minute windows, how many new singers typically show up per show, the peak arrival window, and when half the room has usually arrived.
- Song search: when a title or artist is misspelled and nothing matches exactly, the search now offers 'Did you mean...' suggestions.
Improvements
- Casino Night: switching Slots on during a show now grants the check-in stars to every singer who already checked in that night, so nobody misses their spin.
Lucky Scratch bonus game for Casino Night - plus fixes for Do Nothing mode and speed control
Version 1.0.63 · 2026-09-04
Casino Night gets a second game: a Lucky Scratch symbol on the reels that opens a scratch-off ticket in the KaraMeet app, with prizes and odds you choose. This update also fixes the SKIP button in Do Nothing mode, moves song speed to fine 1% steps, and keeps Casino win alerts on the host screen only.
New Features
- Lucky Scratch bonus game (KaraMeet Settings, Casino Night): turn on the Lucky Scratch reel symbol and set its odds. When a singer lands three, a 3x3 scratch-off ticket opens on their phone - they scratch all nine boxes with a gold coin and three in a row wins.
- Every prize in your Casino Night prize pool now has two tick boxes - Slots and Scratch - each with its own odds, so a prize can be on the reels, on the scratch ticket, or both. A pink meter shows the chance a ticket pays out.
- Lucky Scratch wins arrive in the same Casino win alert, wins feed and Mark Redeemed flow as slot wins, labelled Lucky Scratch, and the Analytics Casino tab shows scratch tickets, scratch wins and which game each prize came from.
- Tonight's players (Analytics, Casino tab): every KaraMeet singer who earned stars or spun tonight, with spins done and spins left - singers who have spins waiting but haven't played yet are flagged so you can go show them the game.
- Singers can now pick a song speed in the KaraMeet app, and it carries through to the host console and the performance just like their key change.
Improvements
- Song speed now steps in 1% increments from -15% to +15% (previously 5% steps), in the Now Playing controls and the singer detail window.
- Casino win alerts only appear in the host console window - never on the DJ pop-out or the Singer Screen.
Bug Fixes
- In Do Nothing mode, the SKIP button on the #1 singer moves them to the bottom without marking them inactive - singers only go inactive by your hand.
- Switching the Following Performance mode in Settings now takes effect in the open queue immediately, without a refresh.
Switch song versions mid-performance - plus a photo slideshow
Version 1.0.62 · 2026-09-01
Two big quality-of-life features for hosts. When a song is playing and your library has more than one version of it, a small badge next to the song title lets you switch to a different disc on the spot - the current one fades out and the same singer restarts on the version you picked, with their key and tempo carried over and the rotation untouched. And the DJ deck gains a Slideshow: point it at a folder of photos and they play on the singer screen with smooth transitions whenever karaoke isn't - pausing the moment a song starts.
New Features
- Mid-song version switching: a badge beside the Now Playing title shows the current disc and how many versions exist; pick another and the song fades into it - same singer, same key and tempo, no effect on the rotation or queue.
- DJ Slideshow (DJ deck, Options): choose a photo folder, seconds per photo, and a transition style (crossfade, slide, zoom, or random). Photos fill the singer screen between karaoke songs, keep their true proportions, pause during performances, and resume where they left off.
- Approximate stage time for hidden singers (Singer Screen settings): when your rotation display is limited to a Top N, singers further down can now see a personal arrival window in the KaraMeet app - for example 9:52-10:08 PM - instead of no time at all.
Bug Fixes
- The Auto Fadeout on Stop checkbox in Standard settings now actually works - untick it and STOP cuts the song off immediately instead of always fading.
- Light mode: the Add-ons page, the Audio/Video page, and the Sound FX drawer were unreadable (dark text on a dark page, or white text on white). All three now display correctly in both themes.
- With a custom console background set, the KaraMeet Settings window could open underneath the console instead of on top of it. It now always opens centered in front.
Casino analytics: your top winners, on the board
Version 1.0.61 · 2026-08-31
The Analytics screen learned about Casino Night. A new Casino tab shows the whole game across all of your shows combined - total spins, players, prizes won and redeemed, your top winners and most-won prizes, and a table of recent wins with their codes. It uses the same This Month / This Year / All Time filters as your show stats, and it only appears once the casino is actually in use.
New Features
- A Casino tab on the Analytics screen (it appears alongside Shows once Casino Night is in use) with total spins, players, prizes won, and prizes redeemed - across all of your shows combined.
- Top Winners and Top Prizes Won leaderboards, ranked with the same gold-silver-bronze style as your top singers and songs.
- A Recent Wins table listing each win's date, singer, prize, redeem code, which show it happened at, and whether it's still waiting, redeemed, or expired.
- Spin outcome and prize status breakdowns, so you can see wins versus no-wins and how many prizes actually get claimed.
Improvements
- The show dropdown in the Casino Night panel now shows the day of the week, start time, and city beside each show - matching the schedule pickers above it.
Bug Fixes
- Settings windows could open behind the console instead of on top of it. They now always land in front.
Casino Night goes live in the host console
Version 1.0.60 · 2026-08-31
The slot machine your singers have been waiting for is now fully wired into your console. When Casino Night is on for your venue, a Casino button appears in the top bar: win alerts slide in the moment a singer hits, you can announce winners on the spot, and redeeming a prize is one tap when the singer shows their code — including prizes from earlier nights. This release pairs with the KaraMeet singer app, where the slot machine itself, spins, and the My Prizes screen are already live.
New Features
- A Casino button in the top bar that appears only while your venue's Casino Night is switched on, with a red badge counting wins you haven't handled yet.
- Live win alerts: a toast slides in when a singer wins, with an Announce button that speaks the winner's name and prize through your speakers.
- The Casino Wins list: every win from tonight plus all still-unclaimed prizes from recent nights, each with its redeem code, an Announce button, and a one-tap Mark Redeemed when the prize is handed over.
- A slot machine (🎰) marker on rotation rows for singers who have won tonight, so you can give them a shout-out when they come up to sing.
- A Prize Expiration setting in the Casino Night panel: choose how many days singers have to claim a won prize (14 by default) — unclaimed prizes expire automatically.
- Two new prize icons in the Add Prize picker: a mic keychain and a boombox keychain.
Improvements
- The odds controls in the Casino Night panel lost their sliders: every prize now shows a clean solid gold bar with its 1:N odds, and you adjust odds with simple minus and plus buttons.
Known Issues
- The Announce button currently uses your computer's built-in voice. It will hand off to the EMCEE AI announcer when that feature arrives.
Casino Night setup arrives, and links now open in front
Version 1.0.59 · 2026-08-30
You can now set up Casino Night — a slot-machine prize game your KaraMeet singers will play with the spins they earn at your shows. Configure your prizes, odds, and rules tonight; the singer-side slot machine goes live in an upcoming update. Also in this release: web links finally open in front of the app every time.
New Features
- Casino Night setup on the KaraMeet settings page: turn the game on per venue, build your prize pool with 20 ready-made prize icons, and set the odds for each prize as simple ratios like 1:20.
- A house meter that shows your total win chance per spin at a glance, with a warning when your prizes would pay out on more than 3 of every 4 spins.
- Spin Again and Free Spins bonus symbols with their own odds, adjustable star values for check-ins, check-outs, and referrals, and a per-night song bonus you can switch on for special promotions.
- A required compliance confirmation so every venue acknowledges spins are always free to earn and local promotional-game rules apply before the game can be turned on.
Bug Fixes
- Opening a web link from inside Karatrack now reliably brings your browser to the front instead of leaving it hidden behind the app.
Known Issues
- The singer-side slot machine, prize wins, and host win alerts are not live yet — this release ships the venue setup so your prizes and odds are ready the moment the game screens arrive.
Singer badges now actually show up, plus small polish
Version 1.0.58 · 2026-08-28
A fast follow-up to 1.0.57: the singer star badges introduced yesterday now appear on the queue cards and the singer screen as intended, links open in front of the app instead of behind it, and the top bar got a visual cleanup.
Improvements
- The buttons across the top bar are now all one uniform size, with each icon and label on a single line.
- Links that open in your web browser (like the KaraMeet sign-up page) now appear in front of Karatrack instead of hiding behind it.
Bug Fixes
- Singers' KaraMeet star badges now appear on their queue cards and the scrolling singer-screen marquee. In 1.0.57 they showed in the singer app but never made it onto the host displays.
Linked couples rotate fairly, cleaner queue cards, and true full screen
Version 1.0.57 · 2026-08-28
This update fixes linked couples occasionally jumping to the top of the rotation, redesigns the singer queue cards so nothing overlaps, and adds a set of new KaraMeet-connected features: missing-song requests, decline reasons, star badges in the queue, and a Surprise Me random song picker.
New Features
- The console now always opens maximized, and a new button in the top bar switches to true full screen (taskbar hidden). Click it again to return to normal.
- Missing Song Requests: singers who can't find a song in your songbook can now ask you for it from the app. Requests appear on your Songs Needed page with an App Request badge; resolving one tells the singer their song was added, and a new Can't Get It button lets them know politely when you can't. Turn it on per venue in KaraMeet's Edit Show.
- Decline with a reason: rejecting a mobile request now offers quick reasons (or your own words) that the singer sees in their app, instead of the request silently disappearing.
- Accept notice: when you accept a request, the singer's app now shows a confirmation on their queue card - and you can customize that message per venue in KaraMeet's Edit Show.
- Queue badges: singers' KaraMeet star milestone badges now show next to their name on the queue cards and the marquee.
- Surprise Me: a Karaoke Roulette button in the song picker chooses a random track from your library for adventurous singers.
Improvements
- Singer queue cards have a new three-line layout - name and badges, then song and artist, then the times - so long names, badges, and times no longer overlap or get cut off.
- The Connected button on the Remote panel now opens KaraMeet settings as an overlay on the console (like the Settings menu does) instead of a separate window, and its back button simply closes it.
Bug Fixes
- Linked couples no longer jump the rotation: after one partner sang, the couple could grab the top two spots and everyone below them was skipped. A finished linked singer now drops to the bottom like everyone else, and the couple reunites there once both have sung.
A tidier console: settings and tools now open right on top of your show
Version 1.0.56 · 2026-08-27
Singers, Analytics, and all the settings screens no longer open as separate windows that pile up on your taskbar. They now appear as overlays right on the host console - just like Show History - and close with one click, without ever touching the music or the rotation.
New Features
- Videos that Windows can't play (older MPEG-4 formats) are now detected during library import and converted to a playable format automatically in the background.
Improvements
- Singers, Analytics, Customize UI, Singer Screen, KaraMeet, General Settings, Audio/Video, Add-ons, Transfer Data, and License all open as on-screen overlays instead of extra windows. Your show keeps running untouched behind them.
- Library & Database keeps its own window - and clicking it again in Settings now brings that window to the front instead of leaving it buried.
- The DJ deck's autoplay button now reads AUTO ON / AUTO OFF, so it fits its space instead of looking oversized.
- In Edit Karaoke Track, the save button now reads 'Save All Changes'. Metadata edits are saved automatically and flow straight to the File Manager export in Database Management, so the extra export button there is gone.
Bug Fixes
- 'Back to console' buttons inside the settings screens now simply return you to the console - previously some did nothing and General Settings could even open a stray DJ window.
- The Software Update section no longer disappears from General Settings.
Try Karatrack+ AI free for 14 days
Version 1.0.55 · 2026-08-25
Karatrack+ AI now has a full free trial. New users enter their email on the activation screen and get every feature, unlocked, for 14 days on that computer - no credit card, no limits. Buying later keeps everything exactly as it was set up during the trial.
New Features
- Free 14-day trial: start it from the activation screen with just an email address. Every feature is included, and the trial is tied to one computer.
- A small 'Free trial - X days left' reminder on the console during a trial, with a Buy button that opens the Karatrack website in your language.
- Buy Karatrack+ AI directly from the License screen while on a trial or after it ends - your songs, singers and settings all carry over to the full license.
Linked couples stay together in the rotation
Version 1.0.54 · 2026-08-19
New singers can no longer be inserted between two linked singers - in either rotation type, with any singer-handling setting, from the app, the kiosk, or the host console. The Autoplay button on the DJ deck also moved to a spot that is much easier to find.
Improvements
- The DJ deck's Autoplay button now sits directly below the green Start button, at the same size, instead of hiding in the top-right corner.
- The Help topic "How the singer rotation works" was rewritten in all 13 languages - it now correctly explains that there are no penalties, that skipped singers keep their place in line, and what each of the four singer-handling settings does.
Bug Fixes
- New singers who signed up through the app or kiosk could land between two linked singers - especially after a couple had been skipped or deactivated. Linked couples now stay together, and new singers always land above or below the pair.
- A resting linked couple could drift apart in the rotation after being passed over; the pair now settles back side by side.
- In one rare rotation-marker setup, a new sign-up could push down the spot-2 singer who had already received a "You're up next!" notification. Spot 2 can no longer be displaced.
Accurate sign-up counts and a cleaner console
Version 1.0.53 · 2026-08-18
Analytics now counts every singer who signed up during a show - not just the ones still in the queue at closing time - so your Show History and sign-up charts finally match what happened on the floor. The host console also gets a small visual polish.
Improvements
- The Refresh ETA and Change Song buttons above the singer queue are now the same size, so the pair looks intentional instead of mismatched.
- The DJ Control tab at the bottom of the console now matches the Sound FX tab's blue styling, making it easier to spot.
Bug Fixes
- Show History, Weekday Popularity and Sign-up Times were under-counting singers. They counted whoever was still in the queue when the show ended, missing everyone who finished their songs and left. All past shows now re-report correctly automatically - no action needed.
See what is in an update before you install it
Version 1.0.52 · 2026-08-17
Karatrack now tells you exactly what a version adds, improves and fixes - both in the update prompt and any time in Settings - in whichever language you have the app set to.
New Features
- What's New in the update prompt - the features, improvements and fixes in the version being offered are listed before you decide to install.
- What's New in Settings - General Settings, Software Update now shows what the version you are running brought, or what a waiting update contains.
New Show reminder, rotation fix, and a smoother queue
Version 1.0.51 · 2026-08-17
Karatrack now offers to start a fresh show when you open it on a new karaoke night, singers who finish their last song drop to the bottom of the rotation the way you expect, and new singers no longer appear to jump around the queue.
New Features
- New Show reminder - open Karatrack on a new karaoke night and it offers to start a fresh show, so last night's rotation never carries over by accident.
Bug Fixes
- A singer who finished their last song could stop partway down the rotation instead of dropping to the bottom, and stayed pinned there for the rest of the night. They now settle at the bottom correctly, and the next singer to finish pushes them down as expected.
- Newly added singers no longer flash into the second spot before settling into their real position. The queue order was always correct - only the display was off.
Do Nothing rotation mode, Quick Add, and a batch of KJ fixes
Version 1.0.50 · 2026-08-16
You now control exactly what happens to a singer after their song ends, adding a singer takes one window instead of three, and several rotation bugs reported by beta testers are fixed.
New Features
- Do Nothing mode - choose what happens to a singer once their song finishes, including leaving them exactly where they are in the rotation.
- Quick Add - add a singer and their first song from one condensed window.
- Change Song button - swap a singer's song without removing and re-adding them.
- Vocal Control Rack preview.
Improvements
- The DJ deck now retries a track that fails to load and clears itself on an error instead of staying stuck.
- Your rotation marker stays where you put it when a singer is deactivated.
Bug Fixes
- Deactivate Always no longer skips a singer's final song of the night.
Known Issues
- After updating, open Settings once and re-pick your rotation mode so Karatrack saves your choice. Until you do, it falls back to the old behaviour.
Latest Improvements
Version 0.1.49 · 2026-08-15
We work hard every day to streamline the Karatrack Software Suite.
New Features
- Right Click Singers - Quick Access
- Change Song - Wrong karaoke version or song selected? Change song without rotating current singer.
