kJams Alternative
A kJams alternative for Windows hosts
kJams is a karaoke jukebox for Mac and Windows with some genuinely strong ideas: it remembers each singer's key and tempo, and singers can reorder their own songs. If you host on Windows and want an in-venue kiosk, album art for singers and tighter request control, here's how Karatrack+AI compares.
The short version
- Stay with kJams if you host on a Mac. Karatrack+AI is Windows-only, so it can't replace kJams on a Mac.
- Switch to Karatrack+AI if you're on Windows and want a dedicated in-venue kiosk, album art on the singer screen, a per-singer mixer and a 13-language interface.
- Both remember each singer's key and tempo, and both let singers reorder their own songs.

Where kJams shines, and where it stops
As of August 2026, kJams recalls each singer's key and tempo and lets singers reorder their own queue, two things many hosting tools still don't do. It doesn't offer a dedicated in-venue kiosk mode, though, and its artwork panel is for the host's screen only, so singers don't see album art.
Karatrack+AI keeps the per-singer memory and the self-managed queue, and adds Karakiosk, a sign-up and request screen built for busy rooms.
What changes when you switch
These are the areas where Karatrack+AI goes past what kJams documents publicly.
An in-venue kiosk
Karakiosk puts sign-up and song requests on a screen in the room. One copy runs one show with as many kiosk devices as you want.
Album art on the singer screen
Singers see album art and karaoke manufacturer artwork, pulled in automatically with Karatrack Library Manager.
Per-singer mic level and EQ
On top of key and tempo, set each singer's mic level and EQ on the built-in mixer.
Verified singer identity
Optionally verify singers with a one-time text code, so nobody slips into the rotation under a second name.
Follow, groups and check-ins
Through the Karameet app, singers follow each other, form groups, check in to your show and discover songs from other singers' favorites.
13 languages
The host console and Karakiosk switch between 13 languages, including Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Korean and Chinese.
What kJams still does well
An honest comparison has two sides. kJams is a good fit if these matter most:
- ✓It runs on Mac as well as Windows
- ✓It recalls each singer's key and tempo
- ✓Singers can reorder their own songs
- ✓A long history as a karaoke jukebox
Making the switch
If you're hosting on Windows, Karatrack+AI comes with a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked and no credit card. Install it, point it at the karaoke library you already own, and run practice rotations before your next show.
One Karatrack+AI license activates two computers, so your backup rig is covered from day one.
